The project explores the art market as part of consumer culture. It compares art collecting with shopping – the former perceived as an intellectual and elitist pursuit, the latter stereotypically dismissed as “women’s trivia”. In these works, collecting becomes a playful act, and art objects and consumer goods are shown as interconnected phenomena. Each piece is an homage to renowned artists such as Salvador Dalí, Damien Hirst, and Jeff Koons. The artist’s personal background in the advertising industry and her observations of the art market’s mechanisms enable her to critically reflect on the parallels between consumption and collecting through her artistic practice.
Ultimately, art remains a living space of play, irony, and freedom, where value is not always defined by the market.
